About

Create something people want to look at every day.

Doug was always passionate about art; drawing, painting, and creating in multiple mediums with a variety of materials. His parents discovered his distinct talent when he was just a young boy. He inherited genuine artistic talent from his great aunt Dorothy Visju Anderson, who was a celebrated portrait and landscape artist in the late 1800’s and early 1900’s.

Doug attended the Art Academy of Cincinnati as well as the Central Academy of Commercial Art. He graduated at the top of his class and despite his true desire to paint, he initially chose to pursue a career in commercial art and advertising in Chicago. Doug worked at multiple top agencies, elevating high profile brands with powerful and emotional visual storytelling. Doug earned numerous awards for his bold and innovative work, pushing creative barriers, and pioneering a unique perspective that set his work apart.

After an incredibly accomplished career in advertising, Doug decided to pursue his life long passion and desire to paint. Whatever he paints, be it animals, landscapes, portraits, or celebrities, he wholeheartedly aims to capture the true essence of the subject, inviting the viewer in to ponder the image and feel inspired by the artwork. Doug consistently puts his artistic eye, mind, and soul into all that he creates.

Doug strives to paint images that are aesthetically pleasing while still having a sense of reality. He’s had the pleasure of traveling the world and he’s been able to see the majestic presence of people, wildlife and the beauty of nature all around the globe. Doug believes that life has a sense of mystery and honesty about it. He works to create images that endlessly engage the viewer.

Doug and his family recently relocated to Colorado to be closer to the western landscape. Doug always yearned to live near the mountains and settle in the west.

Doug’s artwork is currently represented at Gold Mountain Gallery in Telluride, Colorado and Mountain Home in Evergreen Colorado.
